How old do I have to be to participate?
As long as you can run/walk a 5k, you can be a part of this fun event! If you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver before you can run. If you are under 11, you will also need a responsible adult to participate with you in the run.
What is included in your adult registration cost?
T-Shirt (if registered by August 30th), a Pure Eats Glazed Doughnut, a beverage and a race goodie bag. If you are participating in the half marathon event and are registered by August 30th, you will receive a finishers medal for participating in the event.
What should I wear?
Dress in something comfortable to run in.
What happens if it rains?
We run! Trust us, we want this event to happen as much as you do and we will do everything we can to make sure the show goes on! We may postpone the start as far into the day as allowed by our permits. If we do have to cancel on the day of, we will not be able to offer refunds.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined.
Can I register the day of the race?
Yes, there will be race day registration. However, you must register in person at Camden Field in Buena Vista. 5k Day of Event Adult Registration will go up to $30 and the Half Marathon Day of Event Adult Registration will go up to $60. Day of Event Registration will only include the race, two doughnuts and a beverage.
Is the race Chip Timed?
Yes, Chip time is another way of saying "net time," or the actual amount of time it takes a runner to go from the starting line of a race to the finish line.

Before the race:
- Pre-race packet pick-up will be held on Friday, September 13th between 4-6 p.m. at the Lex Running Shop, 41 South Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450.
- There will be parking available at Camden Field across from May's Grocery Store in Buena Vista, VA.
- Consider a water bottle, however their will be one hydration station located on the 5k route and multiple hydration stations located on the half marathon route.
During the race:
- Safety first. For your safety and the safety of your fellow runners/walkers on the race course, please stay within, and follow the markings on the roads. Volunteers are on the course to assist you if needed.
- Restroom Access. Restrooms and Porta-John's will be available at Camden Field which is where the Start/Finish Line is for both the 5k and Half Marathon events. Porta-John's will be strategically located along the Half Marathon course.
- The race will be held RAIN or SHINE. In the event of lightning/threatening weather, the race itself will be cancelled, but lunch will still be provided to those who have purchased meal tickets. Tickets are non-refundable.
- There will be a first aid tent if needed, located at Camden Field.
- Volunteers will be located throughout both the 5k and Half Marathon routes in case of an medical emergency.
- Hydration Stations will also be located throughout both the 5k and half marathon routes.

After the race:
- Race results will be available following the race and will be posted online by Sunday morning.
